The Egon-Eiermann-Bau was an unoccupied industrial building in Apolda, Thuringia in Germany. During a two weeks workshop about 50 people worked together to give the building a second life. Initiated was the project by the IBA Thuringia and ConstructLab. There has been eight different workshops, where the participants worked in to create a temporary hotel. The Hotel Egon shouldn't be a normal hotel, but it should give visitors the chance to stay longer, if they want. And with more visitors hopefully more companies are coming, which want so settle down in the old Egon-Eiermann- Building.
